South Africa’s Team Crowned Champions at the International Tent pegging Championship in Traditional Sports Dress – Moscow 2024

The South African tent pegging team was crowned the champion of the International Tent Pegging Championship in Traditional Sports Dress, which was organized by the Russian Traditional Federation at the Kremlin School under the supervision of the International Tent Pegging Federation. The event took place in Moscow. The Egyptian team finished as the runner-up, while the UAE team secured third place. The tournament saw intense competition among the participating teams. On the first day of the Championship (Lance Competitions), the Egyptian team emerged as the champion, with South Africa as the runner-up and the UAE team finishing in third place. On the second day (Sword Competitions), the South African team came out on top, with the Egyptian team in second place and the UAE team in third.
On the third day, South Africa dominated by winning the Rings and Peg, lemons and Peg, and the Relay competitions. The host team, Russia, finished as the runner-up, with the UAE team in third place.
Individually, the Egyptian team excelled on the first day, with Rany Hamlet claiming first place, Ahmed Bakr second, and Mohamed ElMaghawri third.
On the second day, the first place went to Basie Nel from South Africa, Rany Hamlet from Egypt took the second place, and Ahmed Bakr from Egypt came in third. On the third day, the first place was secured by Stian van Graan from South Africa, the second place went to Fedor Efimov from Russia, and Vladislav Kudzaev from Russia took third place.
In the overall individual standings, Rany Hamlet from Egypt was crowned the champion, with the second place going to Basie Nel from South Africa and the third place going to Stian van Graan also from South Africa.
The championship was attended by Mohammad bin Isa Al-Fayrouz, President of the International Tent Pegging Federation, Marina Sechina, President of the Russian Equestrian Federation, and various dignitaries including heads of delegations and ambassadors from participating countries
