Under the patronage of Princess Alia bint Al Hussein, Iraq crowned champions at the Aqaba Beach International Horseshoe Tournament in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. Iraq’s national horseshoe team was crowned champion of the Aqaba Beach International Horseshoe Tournament, organized by the Royal Jordanian Equestrian Federation in cooperation with the Jordanian Public Security Directorate and under the supervision of the International Horseshoe Federation. The event was held in Aqaba, the Economic City, with Jordan’s team finishing as runners-up and Egypt’s team securing third place. The tournament featured fierce competition between the participating teams. Iraq’s team dominated the first day’s competition (lance event), securing first place, with Jordan’s team coming in second and Egypt’s team in third. Iraq also emerged as champions in the second day’s event (sword competition), with Egypt securing second place and Jordan taking third. On the third day, Jordan’s team took first place in the combined events (ring and horseshoe capture, cutting lemons, and horseshoe capture), with Iraq finishing second and Kuwait placing third. In individual performances, during the first day, Jordan’s athlete Dhaim Hussein Darzi took first place, while Egypt’s Rani Hamed came second, and Iraq’s Osama Lawaa Bahlool placed third.
On the second day, Egypt’s Rani Hamed claimed first place, Jordan’s Abdullah Jassim Al Hindi took second, and Pakistan’s Aftab Shabir secured third. On the third day, Iraq’s Osama Lawaa finished first, with Jordan’s Hussam Al Khaza’leh coming second, and Iraq’s Hamam Yahya in third.
In the overall individual standings, Iraq’s Osama Lawaa emerged first, followed by Jordan’s Dhaim Hussein Darzi in second, and Iraq’s Hamam Yahya in third.
The competition took place over three days under the patronage of Her Royal Highness Princess Alia bint Al Hussein, with the attendance of Sheikh Mohammed Al Fayrouz, President of the International Horseshoe Federation, Prince Asim bin Al Hussein, and a number of officers, officials from the city of Aqaba, heads of participating delegations, and ambassadors from the participating countries.
