It also approved the membership applications of Slovakia, France, Japan, and Uzbekistan, among other topics serving the development of the sport of tent pegging.

Mohammed bin Issa Al-Fairooz, President of the International Tent Pegging Federation, delivered a speech in which he reemphasized gratitude and deep appreciation to the Sultanate of Oman—its leadership and people—for hosting the Federation’s headquarters and for the financial and moral support provided by the respected government.
Al-Fairooz also highlighted the categorized international championships organized by the Federation last year. At the beginning of 2024, the Arab Republic of Egypt hosted the second edition of the Military Tent Pegging Championship in April, with six countries participating: Egypt, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Jordan, Qatar, and Iraq. Egypt won the championship, Jordan came second, and Saudi Arabia placed third.
In July, the Russian Federation hosted the fourth edition of the Traditional Tent Pegging Championship with the participation of eight countries: Russia, Qatar, Belarus, South Africa, the UAE, Syria, Egypt, and Kazakhstan. South Africa won this championship, Egypt came second, and the UAE came third.
On this occasion, we extend our sincere thanks and appreciation to the countries that hosted these significant international tent pegging championships, as their efforts greatly contribute to the global spread and development of the sport. We also encourage other member countries to take the initiative in hosting similar international events.
President Al-Fairooz mentioned that on the occasion of World Tent Pegging Day, October 27, 2024, the Federation organized several programs, activities, and events. A virtual seminar was held for all fans of the sport, attended by the President and members of the Federation’s Board of Directors, with more than 500 participants. Their proposals and questions were heard, all aiming at advancing the sport.
He also spoke about the Federation’s continuous efforts to diversify championship formats and organize events across different continents, aiming to positively impact practitioners and enthusiasts alike. In conclusion, he thanked the Federation’s board members and the General Assembly for their dedication to promoting this ancient sport.
