The Republic of South Africa is hosting the 4th edition of the ITPF World Cup event, organized by the International Tent pegging Federation, this international spectacle features participation from 9 teams representing countries worldwide, who earned their spots after competing in four Qualifying tournaments across Sudan, Egypt, Pakistan, and Oman. These nations include Oman, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Yemen, South Africa, Egypt, India, Pakistan, and Norway.
Muhammad bin Issa Al-Fayrouz, President of the International Tentpegging Federation, handed over the 2023 World Cup trophy to the Organizing Committee of the tournament, in the presence of Haitham bin Muhammad bin Jawad Al-Lawati, Secretary General of the International Tentpegging Federation and the members of the Organizing Committee for the tournament. Al-Fayrouz confirmed that all preparations have been completed for the launch of the tournament in its fourth edition. This follows the first edition hosted by the Sultanate of Oman, the second by the Arab Republic of Egypt, and the third by the United Arab Emirates. Al-Fayrouz added that this event comes after the widespread growth of the sport of Tentpegging on various continents, with the International Tentpegging Federation’s increasing interest in supporting the sport and utilizing all resources to promote its expansion. This includes developing the capabilities of referees and coaches through training courses held alongside the Federation’s organized Events.
